CONTEXT
The New School Student Center forms the center of the
13th street campus. To collect
the student body around one place, its intrinsic function
are the individual workspaces for
the students and a subsidiary function as a black box
containing library, cafeteria, student
art shop and exhibition space.
A membrane facade, representing the common image of the
New School, is primilary
directed to the plaza at 5th Avenue and 13th Street but
has also elements for the long
distance perception from Union Square and 14th Street. |
